The World of Concrete convention in Las Vegas, Nevada provided a great learning opportunity for local Salem concrete contractors at Slate and Slate Construction.
Recently, several members of the management team were able to attend the World of Concrete convention, which is a week packed full of learning for commercial concrete contractors. This annual convention was first put on in 1975, and has grown over the years as a great resource for concrete contractors and a great way to keep up with innovation in the industry. This year, World of Concrete put together a wide range of presentations and demonstrations by manufacturers and distributors of tools, equipment, and products used in the concrete industry. The seminars that were offered at the convention provided continuing education and certification opportunities for thousands of industry professionals. The networking opportunities at World of Concrete allow concrete contractors with widely varying experiences to come together, share knowledge, and work to help the industry as a whole to grow and improve. There were hands-on trainings covering everything from finishing floors to stamped concrete to taking accurate measurements with the most advanced technology available. Interactive workshops provided coaching in leadership styles and various important aspects of job site safety procedures.
All in all, this was a great learning experience for the team, and a future post will highlight some of the biggest takeaways from this information-packed week. Slate and Slate Construction aims to be the concrete contracting company with the most expertise and experience in Salem and the surrounding areas, and continuing education is an important part of working toward that goal.
